A quick glace of the latest case log from the Office of Government Information Services shows requests are coming in for help with many agencies. In fact, the distribution of agencies with which requesters are seeking help is remarkable. (Click image to expand. -RB)
This is a relatively young government office — 6 months old — and we might expect that requesters would find out about OGIS through word of mouth. So requests might cluster around a few agencies.
But quite the opposite is happening. Cases are broadly distributed among many agencies. The Justice Department seems to be a favorite agencies among OGIS assistance-seekers. (And remember, those seeking OGIS help may in fact be some of the agencies listed in the case logs hoping to resolve disputes with requesters.)
