Summary: | Using the birth-control patch Ortho-Evra may be hazardous to women's health, revealed federal drug safety documents obtained by The Associated Press under FOIA. About a dozen women, primarily in their late teens and early 20s, died in 2004 of blood clots apparently related to the patch, the Food and Drug Administration documents show. Women who used the patch were about three times more likely to die of a blood clot or survive a serious blood clot than those using birth control pills. | ||
